Richmond Symphony at Sweet Briar College

Sweet Briar College will welcome the Richmond Symphony to its campus on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. in the Murchison Lane Auditorium in the Babcock Fine Arts Center. Members of the general public are welcome and encouraged to attend. Tickets are free for members of the campus community, as well as high school students, college students at other institutions, and children under 18 and can be secured at sbc.edu/symphony.

Under the baton of Hae Lee, this vibrant program journeys across Europe and America, blending the elegance of the Mendelssohns with the contemporary energy of Jessie Montgomery’s “Strum.” Experience beloved orchestral favorites, from the lyrical beauty of Pietro Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana: Intermezzo” and Edvard Grieg’s “Peer Gynt” selections to the thrilling drama of Modest Mussorgsky’s “Night on Bald Mountain,” culminating in Mendelssohn’s sunlit and exuberant “Italian” Symphony.
