The Court House Hill neighborhood reflected the struggles of our nation during the turbulent years surrounding the American Civil War and Reconstruction. This 60-minute, half-mile, guided walking tour will explore numerous marked and unmarked Civil War sites along Court and Clay Streets with topics ranging from love and death, to secession, emancipation, and education.
Join Silent Witnesses, Inc. as we celebrate 160 years since Lynchburg's first Emancipation Day. This event will feature live music, assorted appetizers, and a cash bar with the opportunity to learn more about the future and progress of Silent Witnesses and Emancipation Day in Lynchburg, Va.
