SUMMARY:Coolwell: an Amherst County Neighborhood's History
DESCRIPTION:Open to the public free of charge. \nCoolwell is an historically significant Black neighborhood in Amherst County\, VA. Crystal Rosson\, local community historian and genealogist\, will present Coolwell historic photos\, audio reminiscences and video interviews of longtime Coolwell neighbors\, friends and family. Lynn Rainville\, public historian\, will share information about Coolwell residents who helped to build and run the Sweetbrier Plantation and Sweet Briar College. \nDr. Lynn Rainville is an author\, speaker and public historian who studies ordinary Virginians doing extraordinary things in the past. Crystal Rosson is a local community historian and genealogist. \nAGAR will present stories on video from students who attended Mount Airy Elementary School in the\n​1950s and 1960s. ​ \nReservations: Leave a message at the Museum\, 434-946-9068\, or email staff@amherstcountymuseum.org.
