DESCRIPTION:Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. at George Washington High School \nAiley II\, the second company of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater\, was founded in 1974. The touring ensemble showcases early-career dancers alongside works from emerging and established choreographers\, carrying forward Alvin Ailey’s celebrated mission advancing American dance. The Danville performance will feature Ronald K. Brown’s rhythmically charged Open Door\, Alvin Ailey’s jazzy\, nocturnal Night Creature\, and the enduring spiritual power of Revelations. As part of the DCA’s education initiative\, Ailey II will lead a master class free of charge for area dancers and dance educators at the Meredith Gravely School of Dance. The Ailey II dance company will also present a special morning performance for area students at GWHS\, followed by the public performance that evening.\nTickets and sponsorships for the 2026-27 season are available now at danvilleconcertassn.org\,\nIndividual Performance Ticket prices are $30 for adults\, $15 for students\, and $25 for seniors 65 and older.\nSeason tickets\, sponsorships\, and program advertising opportunities are also available\, and include admission to each event’s VIP reception.\nFor more information\, visit danvilleconcertassn.org/support.
